Chipping away at the big picture
It can be quite daunting when you begin training, working with a new coach, learning a new movement or even changing your diet.
So many things to think about, so many habits to change. This mental swamp can often lead to getting lost, and failing to achieve any real progress. Why am I not getting it? Why am I not improving?
Change and progress take time. Break things down and work on them one step at a time to avoid over complicating the process.
– Work on one queue for your lifting per set
– Change one aspect of your diet
– Go to bed 30 minutes early, rather than two hours
With this, you change your feedback loop from ‘Why do I keep failing at (big goal)?’ to ‘I have consistently achieved (small goal)!’. Once you are consistent, you move on to the next little piece of the puzzle.
